There is one entity that draws thousands of visitors from all around the world and that is the fishing. This section of the Missouri is known for its blue-ribbon trout fishing. These waters are filled with nutrients from the cold tail-waters from the bottom of Holter Dam creating a smorgasbord of feed for those finicky fish. As a result, the population of rainbow and brown trout surge averaging at about 7000+ fish per mile of river. These fish are frequently greater than 10 inches in length! The river is a playground offering year-round fishing. In addition to the plethora of fishing access sites alOf the 1708 acres, nearly 500 acres are registered in USDA’s Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), which compensates a passive income of $16,000 annually. Local Area

Vida, Montana makes its home in Eastern Montana on Highway 13 about 20 miles south of Wolf Point and 30 miles north of Circle. The present-day location of Vida began as the Presserville community, and around 1951, Ed Schillinger moved his store and the Vida Post Office to the present-day location on Highway 13. The community finally agreed to change the town name to coincide with the name registered under the Post Office. The “new” Vida was completed with the move of the last public building, the Baptist Church. Vida had the second radio station in the state! Its call letters were KGCX and was later moved to Wolf Point and then to Sidney. It is also home to Montana sportscaster Rocky Erickson.

Prime Hunting and Fishing

The property is located in McCone County just approximately 1.5 miles from the mighty Missouri River. The distinct features of this region provide a deer and upland bird sanctuary. The brush filled draws conceal big game with ravines for deer and antelope to roam. Sewn wildlife plots and approved USDA grasses attract the hungry game. There are 2 year-round reservoirs and 2 wet-weather reservoirs on the ranch. These reservoirs on the property provide ideal habitat, bedding, and nesting areas for Pheasant, Sharp-tail Grouse, and Hungarian Partridge. The property also borders BLM and State lands for even more adventuring, sight-seeing, or hunting.

The fishing just a mere 1.5 miles away is second to none. This portion of the Missouri River holds a diverse assemblage of native and nonnative fish species. Anglers interested in native species can expect to catch Sauger, Channel Catfish, Shovelnose Sturgeon, Burbot, and Paddlefish. Anglers interested in nonnative species can expect to find Walleye, Northern Pike, and Rainbow Trout. This stretch of river is home to over 50 species of fish. Angling is year-round. The mighty water way carves out canyons and river breaks creating formations that are breathtaking and that make fishing a pleasurable experience for all.
